Terms of Service

Last updated 2026-07-06.

Draft, pending legal review. This page is a working draft. It has not been reviewed or approved by a lawyer and is not final. It may be updated as review completes.

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are an agreement between you and SIXTA (the "Service"). By creating an account, adding an API key to your editor or pipeline, or using any part of the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you are using the Service for an organization, you accept these Terms on that organization's behalf, and "you" means both you and that organization. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. What the Service is

SIXTA Connect is a hosted service that analyzes SQL artifacts (queries, EXPLAIN plans, schema changes and migrations, diagnostics) for PostgreSQL and MySQL. It runs in two places: in your editor over the Model Context Protocol (MCP), and in your CI/CD pipeline as a gate on database changes. The free tier works only from content you submit and has no connection to your database. The paid tier, Connect Pro, adds one thing: a read-only connection to your production database that collects derived statistics only, so that analysis is graded against your real database state. See our data-handling statement for exactly what does and does not leave your database.

The Service provides analysis, findings, and advice. It does not run changes against your database, and it is not a substitute for your own review, testing, and judgment. See section 8.

3. Accounts and eligibility

You must be able to form a binding contract to use the Service, and if you are using it for an organization, you must be authorized to bind that organization. You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for everything that happens under your account. Keep your sign-in credentials secure and tell us promptly at support@sixta.ai if you believe your account has been compromised.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

5. Your content and your database

You keep all rights to the SQL, schemas, and other artifacts you submit, and to the data in your database. We claim no ownership of it. What we do with what you submit, and the exact derived statistics we read over a Connect Pro connection, are described in full in our data-handling statement, which is part of these Terms. In short: submitted content is analyzed in memory and not stored (with the narrow, named exceptions that page lists), and a Connect Pro connection is read-only and collects derived statistics and object identifiers only, never your rows, column values, or query text.

You are responsible for having the right to connect any database you connect and to submit any content you submit.

6. API keys and security

Your API keys and any database credentials you provide are yours to protect. Treat keys like passwords: do not commit them to source control, share them publicly, or embed them in client-side code. You are responsible for activity performed with your keys. For Connect Pro, provide read-only credentials, and prefer short-lived IAM authentication where your database supports it. We describe how we store credentials in the data-handling statement.

7. Subscriptions and payment

The free tier is free. Connect Pro is a paid subscription billed through our payment provider, Stripe. Pricing is per connected writer per month (read replicas attach at no charge), as shown on our pricing page, and may be billed monthly or annually. Connect Pro includes a 14-day free trial; your card is required to start the trial but is not charged until the trial ends, unless you cancel first.

Only your organization's owner, or a member you have given the billing role, can start, change, or cancel a paid subscription. By subscribing, you authorize us and Stripe to charge your payment method on a recurring basis for the plan and number of connected writers in effect, plus any applicable taxes, until you cancel. Fees are stated exclusive of taxes unless noted. How to cancel, and how refunds work, are set out in our Cancellation and Refund Policy, which is part of these Terms.

8. The advice is advice; the changes are yours

SIXTA gives you analysis and advice, including advice about migrations and schema changes. You decide what to run against your own database, and you are solely responsible for the changes you make. A finding of "clean," a safer suggested rewrite, or a passing CI gate is informational and is not a guarantee that a change is safe, correct, or suitable for your situation. Always review, test in a non-production environment, and keep backups before applying database changes. We are not responsible for data loss, downtime, or other harm resulting from changes you choose to run.

9. Warranty disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its analysis will detect every issue or be free of false positives. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SIXTA will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue, or business, arising out of or related to your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time, and you may cancel a paid subscription as described in the Cancellation and Refund Policy. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms (including the acceptable-use rules), if required by law, or to protect the Service or other users, and we will make reasonable efforts to give notice where practical. On termination, your right to use the Service ends. Sections that by their nature should survive (including content ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law) survive termination.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make a material change, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where reasonable, give notice through the Service. Your continued use after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree to a change, stop using the Service and cancel any paid subscription.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. SIXTA is a Delaware C corporation, and the state and federal courts located in Delaware will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising out of or related to them, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
